Inputs and Outputs

A robot is any device that :

Robots work by receiving data from thenenvironment (Inputs) and performing some behaviour by moving parts, or making sounds or making light (Outputs)

Questions

  1. Define the term inputs and outputs
  2. Describe the difference between an input and an input device.
  3. Describe the difference between an output and an output device

Outputs

  1. Follow the instructions in the Mindstorm booklet (pages 4-7) to create a zoobot
  2. Run the built-in program "1" and answer the following questions in your work book (You will need to draw pictures to describe the answers)
    1. How can you use program 1 to make the robot go backwards
    2. How can you use program 1 to make the robot go forewards
    3. How can you use program 1 to make the robot go in circles

Inputs

  1. Follow instructions in the Mindstorm booklet to make a touch sensor for your zoobot
  2. Run the built-in program "5"
  3. Write in your booklet a description of what program 5 does. Make sure you use the words Input and Output in your answer.
