Multimedia Project
The project for this topic will be to create a multimedia version of a school yearbook. Students will be divided into groups (three or less) and will be required to design, create and produce a multimedia presentation about some facet of school life this year.
The stages of development will be :
- Intial brain-storming
- Decision on a topic
- Storyboard Topic
- Gathering resources
- Editing resources
- Producing the multimedia files
Students will be expected to submit
- A hyperlinked collection of files that allow access to the following:
- A short video introduction of the group members and their topic (this must be carefully scripted and rehearsed).
- A copy of the storyboard used to design the project
- A menu system that allows access to the files
- A collection of media tha includes text and at least two of : sound, video, still pictures, animation, interactive media such as flash.
Students may choose any topic related to school life. This may include :
- What you and your friends do at lunch
- What you do in class
- Stories, poetry, descriptions of funny events
- Still pictures and descriptions of people in your year.
- Famous couples or foes.
- Sporting events
- Reviews of best concerts or films from this year.
- Particular skills of some people in your year - for example hackey sack, skateboard tricks etc
- Musical or dance items.
- Skits or commedy items.
- Special effects like light saber or laser blaster duels.
Warning
No student should be involved in filming, encouraging or participating in any activity that is :
- Lewd, sexist or racist.
- Villifies a particular group or individual
- Is dangerous or could cause harm to anyone involved (this includes Jack-ass type activities like riding in shopping trolleys or hitting people with base-ball bats).
- Is illegal or against school rules
- Occurs without the permission of the subject of the film - especially teachers.
- Involves a motor vehicle.
- Involves or infers drinking smoking or drug taking (this includes party footage of people involved in such activites, behaving under the influence of such activities or recovering from such activities)
- Any activity that can bring discredit or shame to this school.
- Permission for publishing should be gained from all participants involved in the filming if they take up more than 20% of any frame or picture, or are the focus of the camera for more than 1 second.
- No surnames, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses or any other data that can identify the subject should be included in the material.
- Material taken during out of school activities like parties must include writeen permission from the parents who hosted the event - including contact details so the permission can be varified.
- Your teacher has the final say with regards to the appropriateness of any material to be included in the presentation.
